I just bought a 2002 6X6 Ranger...   Why is it so loud? Can I put a different muffler on to make it quieter? Also i need a winch to eventually put on a plow. Any suggestions?

Check to be sure you have the stock muffler on your machine and that it has not been altered. Many think that by removing the baffles and or the spark arrester they are increasing the power.

It is not worth the effort and if the spark arrester is removed you could get a serious ticket and start forest fires. Most after market mufflers are louder than the stock ones.

For a winch I can recommend going down to our sponsors section and contacting Viper. Be sure to let them know you are a member here for the discount. My group has 5 Viper winches at this point with no  problems or complaints and great savings. The folks at Viper work hard to keep us happy.
